Copyright complaints

FanRoute respects intellectual property. If a shop on FanRoute uses your copyrighted work, such as your photographs, product images or text, without permission, you can ask us to remove it. We act on complaints under the Copyright Act, 1957 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. We also accept notices in the format of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

How it works

  1. Send a complaint with the form below. You get a reference number straight away and a copy by email.
  2. We review it and, if it is valid, remove or disable the content and tell the shop owner why.
  3. The shop owner can reply with a counter-notice if they believe the content was removed by mistake or they have the right to use it. We pass it to you, and may restore the content unless you tell us you have started legal proceedings.
  4. We reply to every complaint and counter-notice by email within 15 days.

Accounts that repeatedly infringe copyright are closed. Knowingly making a false complaint or counter-notice may make you liable in law. For trademark issues, fake products or other concerns, see our Content Policy.

Include: (1) where the infringing material is on FanRoute; (2) your good-faith belief that its use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law; (3) that the information is accurate and that you own the copyright or are authorised to act for the owner; (4) your full name as your signature.
